Dr. Shapiro received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Environmental Sciences from Boston University and a Masters degree in Biomedical Sciences from Touro College in New York. He completed his medical degree at the prestigious Technion Medical School in Haifa, Israel. He returned to the U.S. to complete his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at St. Michael’s Medical Center in New Jersey, after which he became board-certified in Internal Medicine and was awarded the title of "Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine."
Because of his strong interest in cardiovascular disease, Dr. Shapiro completed a cardiac pacemaker fellowship under the supervision of the renowned cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr. Victor Parsonnet, at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in New Jersey, where his concentration was in surgically implanting pacemakers and defibrillators.
After years of training he remained in the New York and New Jersey tri-state area where he began his private practice in Internal Medicine. In the course of his medical practice, Dr. Shapiro became aware that a growing number of his patients were expressing concerns about their skin and physical appearance.
This led him to explore the new and burgeoning field of Aesthetic Medicine in which he began his extensive and specialized training in various aesthetic medicine procedures. Along with the popular injectible treatments and rejuvenation techniques, Dr. Shapiro specializes in minimally-invasive laser lipo body sculpting using the latest FDA-approved Lipotherme™.
Dr. Shapiro has recently returned to South Florida where he has opened his cosmetic and aesthetic medical practice in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
